Serious traffic offenses committed in the City of Arlington, Texas often lead to severe penalties, one of which may be driver's license suspension. If your driver's license has been suspended because of habitual traffic violations, unpaid State Surcharges or even Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) convictions on your driving record, it may be in your best interest to get in touch with the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno. We have been practicing Texas traffic law for more than 20 years and may be able to seek, on your behalf, a temporary DL known as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL). If an Occupational DL is granted to you for the duration of your Arlington DL suspension, it would allow you to drive legally to work and other places you cannot do without. Would you like additional information on DL suspension or Occupational DLs? Please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form.
If your driver's license is in danger of being suspended, you will be warned beforehand, as the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) will mail you a Notice of Suspension. If you are mailed a DL suspension notice because of traffic offenses previously committed in Arlington, or for reasons including unpaid State Surcharges and No Insurance convictions, you will have only 20 days to respond and request a DL suspension hearing with DPS. If granted to you, this hearing will be held in the Tarrant County Justice Court.
In the case that your driver's license has already been suspended, Jack Byno & Associates understands that public transportation in the DFW area is limited, and that you still require access to school, work and other places essential to daily life. Therefore, our law firm may be retained to seek an Occupational DL on your behalf, so that you can continue to drive legally for the duration of your Arlington DL suspension. You may wish to review a copy of your driving record, if you are uncertain as to the reasons behind the suspension of your driver's license.
Once you have received a DL suspension notice from the Texas DPS, you must respond within the 20 days permitted to you if you wish to request an Arlington DL suspension hearing. If you do respond to your Notice of Suspension in time and a hearing is granted to you, also consider retaining the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno. Our DL defense attorneys may be able to successfully dispute the suspension of your driver's license in the Tarrant County Justice of the Peace Court, even if your DL was suspended over a serious traffic conviction such as DWI. But perhaps you have not been successful in court and you DL suspension hearing was lost. Or maybe you did not respond in time to an Arlington DL suspension notice mailed to you by DPS, and now your driver's license is suspended. Even so, Jack Byno & Associates may still be able to help you stay behind the wheel legally, by applying for a temporary, Occupational Driver's License (ODL) on your behalf. We may apply for you once you have provided us with proof of valid auto insurance, a copy of your driving record and your driver's license number. If an ODL is granted to you, you must remember that it is a privilege and that any driving restrictions that come with it should be followed at all times. This restrictions may include when and where you are permitted to drive, and failure to follow them may result in a Driving While License Invalid (DWLI) charge. DWLI can result in arrest, extended DL suspension and high court fines.
Jack Byno & Associates have been practicing Texas traffic law since 1994 and are skilled in their trade. We are standing by to answer any questions you may have on Arlington DL suspension, DL suspension notices, suspension hearings and Occupational DLs. If your driver's license has been suspended in Arlington and you would like more information on how we may be able to seek you an Occupational DL, please fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form or call the law office at 817-685-0912.
